A quite mainstream exhibition in Amsterdam, at the Stedelijk. Neverthelles there are some relevant pieces. The title sounds as a joke. "Mapping", come on, move over!
the exhibition or some installations were able to transfer an urban space in a virtual one by giving your senses a multiple visual and acoustic input as you are experiencing being in the reality of a city: the characteristic of a city, the complexity. producing similar effects, even not that strong, was the german pavilion at the biennale in venice: with those huge posters in that high space which were falling absolutely off your eye-view. you had to move your heat and yourself to get a whole impression.. .like in an urban space. (the rest of the pavilion was annoying, instead of the terrace and its concept)
